| MK TALKS NY AND FASHION May 4, 2009 at 8:58 pm |
| | Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted strolling around Tribeca with a Starbucks in hand on April 29, demonstrating that shes not afraid to mix patterns in her outfits. Side note - where is Ashley? I feel like its been ages since weve seen her. For MKs look, she started with a patterned, chunky sweater dress (for similar options, try Gold Hawks beautiful Water Color Print Poncho Dress in Fuchsia, Plenty by Tracy Reeses Ruffled Shift Dress in Gumdrop Stripes, or Cake Coutures Ikat Tie Dress) and paired it with classic black Ray-Ban Clubmasters, black gladiator sandals, and two handbags: one vintage or vintage-esque patterned bag and one black fringed bag (like Linea Pelle Collections Janis Fringe Clutch in Vintage Black). This is definitely a very "MK" look and its doubtful if any other celeb could pull it off without everyone saying that theyre trying too hard to be like Mary-Kate - however, do you think it looks good on the tiny twin? Mary-Kate is speaking out about, naturally, her interest and love of fashion, and says of her favorite spots in Manhattan, "All the streets are so special here. I live around here. Im always amazed at how the streets always look different. Im always blown away. The other day, I walked down the street and the trees right now, the white trees and the petals everywhere. So beautiful. Hanging out at Battery Park. Theres something magical about New York and the seasons and watching it change." MK definitely hearts NY! Of her popular clothing line Elizabeth and James, says Olsen, "We just expanded into menswear. We did jewelry and shoes. What we do is start with something really small. Im sure handbags will make sense next. We want to make sure what we do, we do well. Otherwise there is no point." I cant wait to see what they have in store for menswear, how about you?... | | | |
