| | Out on the promo circuit, Rachel McAdams arrived in NYC on April 15 to stop by The Today Show. Not letting the rain get her down, Rach arrived when it was still dark out in a fun red and black striped skirt and classic black tights. Tucking in a white tank, Rach wore a chic black blazer (try William Rasts sassy Outerwear Black Jacket in Black) topped off with a cozy grey coat (William Rasts Outerwear in Military Green) and simple hoop earrings (Michele Michels moderately priced Swarovski Hoops in Silver are a great pick). Love the flirty bangs and curled locks (watch the Today Show clip to get a better view), and of course the red soled Loub booties add a nice touch. Overall Im loving this look - what do you readers think of Rachels style choices? Rach is in NY this week promoting State of Play, her new thriller that is out in theaters today. In the movie, Rach plays a hot young online journalist (aka blogger) turned political reporter after she gets wind of a scandal involving the murder of a congressmans mistress. The thriller has plenty of twists and turns and stars Rachel alongside Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman and Helen Mirren, among others. The entire cast has gotten great reviews for their edgy rendition of the BBC 2003 miniseries that inspired the flick, but Rachel confessed playing a blogger was a bit of a stretch for her - she had a lot of catching up to do! Rach tells: I am not a tweeter. Ive been completely educated about this today. I heard about Twitter for the first time, and its all Ive heard about ever since. Im really ignorant. I dont subscribe to newspapers. I really do listen to the radio. I listen to CBC, NPR and I find its something you can multi-task to. You know, eat your breakfast, and drive, and get your news at the same time. Rach downplayed herself a little bit - she writes (well, maybe she doesnt really write, but her name appears) on the eco-blog greenissexy.org. | | Looking very in love while exiting the Waverly Inn with her hubby of one year, Jay-Z, Beyonce Knowles shared a delicious meal with her man in NYC on April 13. B got dressed for dindin in a stand-out Balmain jacket with elaborate silver frog closures (try Ingwa Meleros long version, the Velvet Coat with Frog Closure), pairing the fancy jacket with a casual white tee and dark seductive skinny jeans (try James Jeans classic Tom 5 Pocket Straight Leg in Dublin Lace). Love the strappy studded heels and her black purse with a cool multichain strap (Antoinette Lees Dolce Handbag in Black has a similar look), but Im not loving the new hair - the washed out color and choppy layered bangs just dont do it for me. Do any of you readers feel the same? While most of the globe is hurting from the current economic recession, B and Jay-Z seem to have escaped the financial mess unscathed. The couple reportedly earned a cool $162 million combined last year, according to Parade magazines annual "What People Earn" list. Thanks to the success of her album "I am... Sasha Fierce," B took in about $80 mil in 2008, while Jay-Z out-earned her by about $2 mil. Not bad for a small town gal from Texas! Im pretty sure its safe to say Beyonces earnings are only going to increase this year, as her international tour begins April 26 and goes until September. Then you have the release of her new thriller Obsessed next Friday... it just keeps getting better!... | | |
