WHO ABUSED JESSICA?
March 17, 2009 at 1:52 am

Finally switching into something more comfortable than those tattered Daisy Dukes, Jessica Simpson arrived in Phoenix, AZ on March 12, taking her tour with Rascal Flatts to the West coast. Compared to her recent fashion faux pas, I have to say I think Jess looks pretty good here. Starting with stretchy black leggings (like Tags Stretch Skinny Pant in Black), Jess paired a simple white tank with a sassy leather jacket (check out Gold Hawks cropped Ruffle Leather Jacket in Moonless Night) and her favorite LV bag (save a few pennies with Julie Ks equally decadent Rianne Bowler Bag in Black Glaze). Her look wouldnt be complete without sky high heels and some over the top jewelry, adding some huge silver hoops (try Christie Martins cascading Three Hoop Earrings in Silver) and a chunky silver ring on her middle finger. What do you think of her fit? Seems like the topic of abusive relationships is on everyones mind these days, and Jessica has made a point of empowering her fans with a few words of advice at every concert before she sings her song, Remember That: No matter what you go through in life, no matter what abuse you go through, take your heart and run so far away. Jess has had her share of high profile relationships since stepping on the music scene as a teen, so theres a lot of speculation over the identity of the abuser shes alluding to. John Mayer seems like the most likely contender, especially after she hinted the abuse occurred last year, before she started dating Tony Romo. However, the lyrics are, It doesnt matter how he hurts you/with his hands or with his words, and a source recently revealed the real meaning behind the song: Jessica endured years of torment at her high school in Texas because of her voluptuous bod. The source explains, Jessica was well-developed, and every guy in high school wanted her and practically every girl hated her. Jessica put on a brave face, but it was a campaign of terror that just devastated her... A nasty clique of girls constantly spread rumors about Jessica, and one that spread like wildfire was that she was gay. How mean! If youve heard the song, do you think Jess is talking about her teenage verbal abuse or an ex-beau... or neither because she doesnt actually write her own songs?...

MIU MIU MOMMY
March 17, 2009 at 12:47 am

Continuing to enjoy her time abroad, Jessica Alba checked out Miu Miu at Paris Fashion Week on March 12 in a very daring fit. I get that she was going for the avant-garde look, but what IS that thing around her shoulders? Capelets might be hot right now but that doesnt excuse this mess! When I first saw it, it reminded me of the Project Runway elimination episode when one of the contestants used real human hair as fur trim. Does anyone else remember? Some of you might not like it just because its fur, but for me its the color and texture that doesnt work. Its a kinda creepy! Besides the hairy misstep, Jessica enjoyed the show in a murky satin sheath dress (try Black Halos elegant Pleated Satin Shift Dress in Black, and add Autumn Cashmeres chic Flutter Sleeve Bolero with Crystal Button in Black if you feel chilly), once again wearing tights paired with some interesting pumps. Love the red accents on the strap but it looks like theyre too big for her feet, dont you think? Not liking the hair either -- Jess slicked her tresses back with a skinny triple headband and gathered it in a messy bun, emphasizing her uneven (ahem, receding?) hairline. Not exactly her most flattering look! The one thing I do like is the clutch -- the studded look is perfect for going out (if youre a fan check out CC Skyes Bolt Clutch in Black, or add a little pop of color for spring with Linea Pelles Danielle Clutch in Fuchsia). Whats your verdict on Jessicas Miu Miu look? Other celebrity fans at the Fall 2009 RTW show included Eva Mendes and Rachel Zoe, all seated in the front row, of course. Attendees took note of Jessicas rapt attention to the last few items on the runway, especially the sheer turquoise blouse tucked into a decadent burgundy skirt near the end. Complete with matching tights, it has Alba written all over it. What do you think of the look, and the rest of the collection?...

ADIOS JAY?

"The City" star Whitney Port was spotted celebrating her sisters bachelorette party at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas, NV on March 13, posing on the red carpet and giving photographers what they want. For her celebratory ensemble, Miss Port started with a zippered leather mini skirt (if its the zippered look you love, check out Amberlynns Zipper Skirt in Black) and paired with an oversized, slouchy white t-shirt (like Rails Kenna Scoop T in White) and black and gold strappy heels. Accessory wise, Whit paired a large watch with a statement cuff (like CC Skyes Studio 54 Gold Mesh Cuff) and leather bracelets (try Accessories and Beyonds Magnetic Leather Bracelet in Black). What do you think - are you diggin Whitneys look? I dont know about you, but Im especially into her bright orange nails. Killer! For those of you "City" fans out there, it may be newsworthy that Whitney has apparently called it quits with Jay. A source says, "Whitney did it over the phone, she was basically just not happy for a while and decided she really wanted to end it. Jay said they should talk things over, but it seems her mind is made up." I wonder how true this source is - Jay was partying with Whitney on her birthday recently at LA hotspot MyHouse and they seemed as happy as can be. What do you think, readers?...

ONE DAY AT A TIME
March 16, 2009 at 5:55 pm

The chicest mom on the block, Nicole Richie, paid a visit to the Eco Mom Event at a private residence in the Hollywood Hills with rocker boyfriend Joel Madden on March 12, toting some sort of DVD along with her for the evening. Always a fan of the maxi dress, Nicole chose a long, floral frock (try Karina Grimaldis Beverly Hills Dress in Eggplant or Cake Coutures Palm Beach V Neck Tunic in White) to accentuate her ever-growing baby bump, and paired it with strappy sandals and a cobalt blue Balenciaga bag (try similar options from Carla Mancini, like the Wavy Top Bag with Braid Handle and Front Pocket in Cobalt, or the East West Shopper in Cobalt). Seems like Nicole had a bit of a jewelry overload, as the last time we saw her, she was making an appearance at Kitson to promote her jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960 - and wore practically every piece from the line. This time, Nicole was jewelry free. Much nicer - dont you think? Its no secret that Nicoles become a pro at dealing with the everpresent paparazzi, and shes telling Glamour Magazine how she copes with the cameramen when Harlow is around. Richie says, "I was with some friends and I saw a few photographers. I have a rule that we dont talk about that stuff in front of Harlow, so we just kept singing songs, which is why my mouth is open. But I was trying to distract her from seeing anyone." A cute method, but I dont think this will distract her forever. She continues, "I think you just take one day at a time." Very wise, Ms. Richie....

BUSY GIRL
March 16, 2009 at 3:45 pm

Heidi Montag was spotted on the red carpet of Star Magazines Young Hollywood Issue Event in Los Angeles on March 11, looking quite demure (for her). Starting with a sophisticated updo, Heidi slipped into a figure-hugging white dress (check out Gold Hawks Tribal Queen Dress in After Glow or Ecoganiks Empire Waist Bubble Dress in White) and paired with a matching cuff (go a little more exotic with Rock Paper Scissors Python Bangle in Black/White) and Loubs, and a small, woven clutch (try Posse New Yorks Natalie Clutch in Pearl White). What are your thoughts on HMs outfit - yay or nay? Personally, I think this is the classiest we might have ever seen her! In other Heidi news, she sure has been keeping herself busy these days, what with trips to "The View" with Spencer, hitting up the recording studio to work on her album that is due this summer, and stopping by In N Out for a burger and fries (of course, with Spencer). This morning, Heidi updated her Twitter with "What an amazing day! Praise God for another day of life!! Lets all enjoy every second today all we have in this life is this moment!!" Heidi Montag, preacher? Either way, this girl sure seems to be busy and enjoying her days!...

A HAIR DONT?
March 16, 2009 at 2:33 pm

Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted getting her "prune" on at The Metropolitan Operas 125th Anniversary Gala in NYC last night, March 15, and I have so much to say about her look that I just need to get it all out now. First, I get that MK is doing the whole pale-skin red-lips look, and while I enjoy her blood red lipstick and orange-red nails, can someone tell me what is going on with her hair? It looks like she either just rolled out of bed or is attending an 80s prom. And the little fishtail braid at the bottom? Not okay, MK! Now, understand, I love MK and she really can do no wrong in my book, but seriously if this was anyone else I think I would definitely throw them under the fashion police bus! MKO started with a floor-length black gown (try Tarts Tisha Dress in Black or Karina Grimaldis Keyhole Cotton Dress in Black) and a metallic snakeskin belt (take a look at Rough Roses Double Buckle Waist Belt in Grey), and paired with sky-high patent stilettos, a square metallic clutch (check out CC Skyes Mirror Clutch in Broken Silver), and a slew of chunky rings (take your pick of Rachel Leighs Nicoli Ring in Gold or CC Skyes Power Ring in Black). What are your thoughts on Mary-Kates overall look here - love it or lose it? The New York Post is actually singing the praises of her new hairdo, saying, "The teeniest star in the galaxy sported some seriously hot big ol country hair. And I am loving it. It looks healthy, full and luxurious - but enough about Mary-Kate. I cant say enough about this off the charts sexy side-swept style. Hey, I think this is the first time Ive used "Mary-Kate" and "sexy" in the same breath. Fun!" I mean, I can kind of see where theyre coming from - what are your thoughts, dear readers? Weigh in!...
