| DOWNFALLS OF FAME March 20, 2009 at 12:14 am |
| | Enjoying a night away from her baby girl, Jessica Alba was all smiles with her husband Cash Warren at the premiere of the hot new flick Sugar in Hollywood on March 18. Jessica seems to be taking fashion risks all over the place these days, but I actually like the way her blouse and skirt work together this time -- I just wish the high neck look wasnt so frumpy. Jess put her look together starting with a loose geometric print blouse (try Prairie New Yorks Tie Turtleneck Top in Purple Feather) with a double wrap skinny belt (like Jack Rabbits slender Bullt Belt in Black) and a straight black mini skirt (Black Halos Button Down Pocket Skirt in Black would look great with the above top tucked in). She sure loves her tights, so naturally Jess wore a pair of sheer black stockings with black pumps, accenting her fit with a glossy black clutch (like Julie Ks Sasha Clutch in Black Glaze) and some mod dangle earrings with big silver circles on the ends (try Calico Junos Victorian 01 Earrings in Dark Amethyst). Once again her bangs are getting a little long, so Im not crazy about them brushed to the side, but I like the 80s-meets-mod vibe going on here. Do you think it works for her? Though she and Cash have been married almost a year now, Jess recently reflected on some low moments of their past, thanks to the paparazzi. Apparently, the person who officiated she and Cashs hush-hush nuptials leaked the news to the press before Jess had time to break the news to mom and dad, prompting Jess to speak her mind: We were planning to take them out to dinner and tell them, but that got ruined... [I was] more hurt, probably, than anything. Its not the first time something like that has happened. Journalists feel entitled to do whatever it takes to get a sensational story, no matter how it affects the person involved. Were not really people, right? Were just celebrities. Am I sensing a little bitterness there, Ms. Alba? I agree with Jess that the tabloids are way too invasive in celebs personal lives, but it sort of goes with the territory. I mean, Jess had a secret wedding while she was 7 months pregnant -- did she really think she could keep it a secret forever? Im pretty sure even if she wasnt famous it wouldnt have taken long for the cat to jump out of that bag! Do you think the constant media presence is unfair to celebs these days?... |
| HANGING OUT WITH VALENTINO March 19, 2009 at 11:33 pm |
| | Putting her best dressed foot forward, Anne Hathaway looked stunning in head to toe white at the premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor in NYC on March 17. Anne is a huge Valentino fan, wearing his elegantly sculpted looks on countless red carpets in the past, so its no surprise she made sure to look spectacular while clasping hands with the infamous designer at the event. Anne arrived in a gorgeous one shoulder white wrap dress (try Cleo Brands Off Shoulder Wrap Dress in Burgundy or the One Shoulder Dress in Purple if you like the wrap style) and a chic white coat (similar to LaROKs Marlena Coat in Cream), polishing her look with a dainty diamond bracelet and glamorous pendant earrings (try Calico Junos dazzling Princess 55 Earrings in Sterling with any color frock). I adore her gem encrusted satin heels and vintage clutch with turquoise accents -- perfect accompaniments to such a simple yet stunning dress. How do you feel about Annes choice of attire? At the premiere, the Oscar nominated actress shared a table with the man of the night, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Claire Danes. I dont know who should feel luckier to be surrounded by so much talent, Anne or Valentino! The film will be out in theaters March 18, and according to the New York Times, the flick is A must-see for fashion lovers and pop-culture fanatics. Check out the trailer on the films website and see what you think of the documentary style flick dramatizing the fate of the iconic brand. Personally, Im so intrigued -- especially when Valentino smacked down the camera -- that I will definitely be making a trip to the movies this weekend to get a look at the behind the scenes drama!... | | | |
