| | Staying true to her unique sense of style, Katy Perry happily left her NYC hotel on April 8, off to a meeting with her record label in downtown Manhattan. I absolutely adore Katys pink and teal mock cardigan tunic - but I doubt anyone but her could pull it off (tone it down with Smittens Longsleeve V Neck Cable Tunic in Black with something sassy over it like Zoas T-Back Vest in Midnight). Adding sheer striped tights, fierce studded booties and classic Ray Bans, Katy accessorized with a purse in the shape of a teddy bear (not as cool, but check out the similar shape of Antoinette Lees Mia Bag in Gold), a studded bracelet (just like CC Skyes ) and a long dainty gold necklace (like Kimberly Faiths 48" Patchwork Necklace in Gold/Silver). Love the randomness she has going on - it might not work for everyone but it certainly suits her style. What do you think of the fit? KP has been in NYC all week doing promo stuff while continuing on her Hello Katy tour. Did any of you catch her at the Fillmore for any of her three shows earlier this week? Taking some time to share relationship insights with her fans, Katy gave her 2 cents while in NYC (and you can only assume shes talking about Gym Class Heroes ex Travis McCoy): "Guys are like artichokes. Its impossible to find the heart. You can be searching and searching but only get the tough stuff. Girls have intuition, they can tell when a player doesnt have a heart. Im using my intuition." | | Following in her daddys footsteps, Miley Cyrus got a healthy dose of country at the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards on April 5. Escorted on the red carpet at the MGM Grand by papa Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley chose a long Monique Lhullier gown with a high side slit and decadent gem encrusted one shoulder neckline (rock the asymmetrical look with picks like Cleo Brands One Shoulder Dress in Navy or Prairie NYs showstopping Tricolor Goddess Dress in Snow). Let me start by saying that I love Monique, but I do not love Miley or the cut of this dress on her bod -- its just not flattering! I love the stone detail, but the shirring on the side makes her look chunky. The color isnt very flattering either - maybe a darker or lighter shade would have helped, or a belt at the waist? I dont know what it is but Im just not feeling it on her! Miley paired her dress with simple Cole Haan heels and a flashy ring by H.Stern (you cant go wrong with Femme Metales Gemstone Ring in Sterling Silver), gathering her long extensions in a messy side ponytail. Kind of a funny hair do, but she did have to let her locks down quickly for her performance during the show. What did you think of her rendition of "The Climb" off the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack? If you ask me the added country twang and the entranced people waving their arms at the front are a little cheesy... but then again everything Miley does is a little cheesy! For those of you Hannah fans (admitted or not), the long anticipated movie is out in theaters tonight, but Miley is already looking forward to her next project. Breaking out of her Disney characters shell, Miley will star in The Last Song, a drama penned for her by The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks. Miley talked about the project at the AMA awards, "Its a very different character. Its an awesome role, I am so excited about it. I love a challenge and the opportunity to stretch myself and learn, and this will definitely give me that chance. I cant wait!" We all know Miley is so over playing Hannah Montana, but does she have the acting skills to pull off the drama filled romance that epitomizes Nicholas Sparks? You be the judge!... |

| | Rocking a casual retro fit, Eva Longoria attended a private Dinner for Designer Lyn Devon in Los Angeles on April 6. At the event, hosted by Lake Bell and Nathan Turner, Eva mingled in a loose geometric printed tan blouse (try the similar style of Walters White Poplin Button Front Top in White) with bleached flare jeans (like James Jeans Leroy Low Rise Flare Jean in Geneva) and huge hoop earrings (check out Circadian Studios Gold Double Circle Earrings in Gold). Eva also wore a thick watch (keeping track of the time?) and if you look closely you can see she is wearing the adorable State Pendant Necklace in Texas by Maya Brenner. You can rep your state or give someone special a personalized gift for a relatively low price - the Bi-Coastal Necklace in Sterling Silver is my favorite. Love Evas new wavy extensions, but please - lay off the bronzer! Does anyone else think her face looks a little orangey? While her husband Tony Parker has been busy playing the last few games of the season for the San Antonio Spurs, Eva has been busy at work as well. She was spotted having lunch with her Desperate Housewives on-screen family this week, hanging out in Ugg boots while sipping coffee in between takes. Now that the majority of the criticism about Evas weight has been subdued, its empowering for all females Eva made the TV Guide Magazines 2008 list of TVs Sexiest Stars, even though she wore "butt pads" while portraying her character Gaby Solis on Desperate Housewives this season. Eva told the mag, I feel like every year Im getting wiser and getting more experience under my belt. I rather enjoy aging, actually. Shes making 30 somethings everywhere proud! At the tender age of 34, I have to agree with her - she does have a certain glow now that shes happily married and has a starring role on a hit TV show. | | Looking ravishing in red, Taylor Swift made a splash on the red carpet of the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on April 5. Love the dramatic crimson shade of this sculptured one shoulder gown by Angel Sanchez, but do you think the shade is too much for her pale complexion? Likewise with the red lips - dramatic, classic look but the April Allure magazine cover was enough, dont you think? Its kind of matchy-matchy with such a look at ME! dress, in my opinion. At the ceremony held at the MGM Grand on Sunday, Taylor was up for four awards and came home with the honors for Best Album of the Year for her breakthrough second CD, Fearless. Reba McEntire hosted the show and presented Taylor with a surprise award - the Crystal Milestone award for selling more albums than any other country artist this year. Attracting a younger audience to the country music scene doesnt hurt either! In her acceptance speech, Taylor acknowledged the millions of fans that have made her famous: "I want to thank my band and crew who go all over the world with us... And to the beautiful fans, to you guys who come out to my shows, I have absolutely fallen in love with you, and I will never forget you -- ever." Tay also performed twice, "appearing" to play piano and belt out her single "Youre Not Sorry" followed by the more energetic hit "Picture to Burn". | | Showing off a foxy new do, Beyonce Knowles had a lunch date with her husband Jay-Z one day after the first anniversary of their marriage. Guess the new bangs commemorate the occasion! What do you think of Bs new mod look? Beyonce dined with her hubby at Pastis in NYCs trendy Meatpacking District on April 5, sporting her monstrous wedding ring while celebrating their anniversary. Stepping out in super skinny jeans (Joes Jeans Cigarette Skinny Jean in Zoe) and a plaid button down blouse (get a little fancy with 3J Workshops Jackie Folk Rose Shirt in As Shown), B rocked the retro vibe with a burgundy bomber jacket and sexy croc embossed heels. Love the suspenders, but I wish she was wearing trouser jeans - do any of you also think the jeans are too snug for the fit? In the accessories realm, Beyonce toted a silver purse (try Carla Mancinis Satchel Bag in Champagne) and wore a red charm bracelet on her right wrist, accenting her neckline with a large pendant necklace (check out Rachel Leighs Looking Glass Necklace in Banana). | | Victoria Beckham was spotted supporting Milans local economy by spending an afternoon indulging in some retail therapy on April 7, in addition to supporting designer Balmain by dressing in their duds from head to toe. In a strong-shouldered Balmain leather blazer and bleached out grey Balmain skinnies, Victoria sure knows how to shop in style. To get VBs look for less, start with a pair of killer grey skinnies (like Joes Jeans Button Fly Chelsea Jean in Angelica) and grab some bleach if you like for a little DIY project, and pair with a cool black leather jacket (check out Gold Hawks cool cropped Ruffle Leather Jacket in Moonless Night, perfect for those chilly Spring nights) over a funky tank (like Ella Moss Parisienne Tank in Black). She joked that she could simply rock up to the studios in a trackie and no make-up and no one would ever know. Scriptwriters created the role of a posh British princess especially for her and were blown away by what a natural she was. Victoria enjoyed every minute." Sounds like a role she was born to play!
