BACK ON THE SET February 27, 2009 at 11:07 pm Happy to be back in NYC filming her next flick, Katie Holmes was spotted going over some lines at a bus stop on February 25. Katie is currently filming The Extra Man with Paul Dano in the city, and if you happen to ride the M42 line, keep your eyes open for the stars -- theyll be filming a few public transit scenes over the next few weeks. In terms of workday attire, Katie started with classic dark skinnies (try Hudsons Mimi Super Skinny 12 1/4 Leg Jean in Noir), a cozy camel trench coat (like Suzabelles Nicolet Trench Coat in Classic Taupe), and a cute waffle knit scarf by Marc Jacobs (try A Graves Eagle Houndstooth Italian Silk Scarf and Black and White). Adding brown ballet flats by Azzedine Alaia and oversized Oliver Peoples sunnies, Katie looks a little too trendy for public transportation, dont you think? Its only been a month since Katie wrapped All My Sons in the city, and shes been hard at work this week rehearsing lines with co-stars and filming some dramatic, tear filled scenes on the streets. Seems like a very interesting new project -- well have to wait and see what its all about! Katie started filming off right, getting on everyones good side with a batch of cookies. Thats right, cookies. One of the crew members told OK! Magazine: It was only the second day of filming and Katie brought our entire crew chocolate chip cookies. What an utter sweetheart. She said, I know you guys work hard. Its such a small gesture but it really goes a long way. Shes cordial, shes friendly and everyone already loves her. Nice to know not every celeb lets the fame get to their head!... BUSY IN THE BIG APPLE February 27, 2009 at 11:01 pm Getting settled in NYC, Cameron Diaz was spotted toting her MacBook Air on February 26 while heading out of her new apartment building. Looks like shes getting some serious business done, between the laptop and the planner on top! Wonder what shes up to? Dressed in a casual fit perfect for the cold weather, Cam started with a cozy gray turtleneck (check out Smittens High Neck Patch Pocket Tunic in Heather Grey) and worn in straight leg jeans (try James Jeans Tom 5 Pocket Straight Leg in Nukan) with a basic white belt (like Bill Adlers Split Buckle Prong Belt in White). Toting a brown leather bag (I love Rough Roses Kimberly Bag in Brown) and wearing cute patterned flats, the fit is very typical Cam but Im sure any of you would rock the same style. What do you think -- is it too bland? Since arriving back in the Big Apple after the Spirit Awards in LA last weekend, Cam has been spotted running errands all over town. The ridiculously happy smile and the laptop both suggest shes up to something -- planning her rumored wedding, perhaps? Rumor has it, the ceremony will take place in the UK countryside this summer, and the happy couple are already looking for a spot to hold the wedding as well as lodgings for their guests. A source said: "The couple is looking at big country estates with chapels within the grounds. They plan to hire out an entire hotel for their family and friends, and throw a massive party. They want to get married in the UK, but will continue to live in Los Angeles." I dont know, a big white wedding sounds like the antithesis of everything Cameron is about. Rumors of the ceremony are spawning jokes that its more likely Paul Sculfors ex, Jennifer Aniston, will wed John Mayor before we see Cameron tie the knot. What do you think?... NEWLY SINGLE and READY TO MINGLE February 27, 2009 at 9:52 pm She might be underage, but that doesnt seem to stop Hayden Panettiere from hitting up trendy Hollywood hotspots on regular basis these days. HP was spotted heading into Guys Night Club in Hollywood on February 19, clad in a very provocative little mini dress that somewhat resembles a draped towel. Really, is this what qualifies as a dress these days? I like the shape of the strapless frock, but it needs to be longer, and a different shade besides white wouldnt hurt either. A few weeks ago, rumors surfaced that HP and long time beau Milo Ventimiglia might be on the rocks after she was spotted hanging on the arm of singer Jesse McCartney at Crown Bar in LA. US Weekly officially broke the news last week, citing a source who claimed the couple split due to lifestyle differences. No big surprise, considering the couple has more than a ten year age difference, but The Chicago Sun Times is telling a very different story. Their source alleges: The split between Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia was caused by a pregnancy scare. The test proved negative but apparently caused friction that sparked the breakup. So thats the real story! Supposedly, there are no hard feelings and the two Heroes stars havent caused any drama on-set, but I wonder how long that will last with Hayden hitting up the clubs in fits like this one. Personally, I think Milo was definitely the better looking half of the couple -- good luck trying to replace him, HP!... PRINCESS PINK February 27, 2009 at 9:39 pm Shes not usually one for color, but Natalie Portman showed up in a vividly pink gown on the red carpet of the 81st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on February 22, standing out against all the white dresses that were so popular this year. I adore the candy colored hue and intricately jeweled bodice of this gorgeous Rodarte frock, but Im not sure if the shade is a good pick for Natalies characteristically plain style. Its a little too princess, a little too feminine compared to her usual taste. It doesnt help that the color is strikingly similar to Alicia Keys Armani Prive gown -- sort of kills the originality of the bubblegum shade, no? During the ceremony, Nat took the stage to present an award with Ben Stiller, portraying Joaquin Phoenix with a furry beard and dark shades. Kudos to Nat for keeping a straight face! Before the show was over, Natalie ruffled a few feathers when she left the ceremony early to make an appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party at the Sunset Tower Hotel, mingling with celebs including Daniel Craig, Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer. The early exit means of two things: the Vanity Fair party is just that cool, or the Oscars were just a little boring this year. What did you think of the show?...
