On exercise: "I try to exercise every day. I like to run for about an hour and I'm big into working out with girlfriends. It's an acquired skill, being able to discuss your love life, children and friends – all while you're running! But we have mastered it."
On living in LA: "Sometimes it's really difficult for me, being far away from home. LA is where my job is and I have to be close, but I never imagined that my children wouldn't grow up next door to my brother's children. Or that my mom and dad wouldn't constantly be around. You know, I had dinner every night with my grandparents as a kid, so I think missing out on that is a hard compromise. At least I have a lot of southern friends in LA - I gravitate toward them. I think of those people as a part of my family: they take care of me and I take care of them."

On sharing clothes: "There are three of us who wear pretty much the same size, so we'll get together on a Friday night and I'll bring clothes I want to trade and they'll bring theirs. We swap shoes and handbags a lot. I wore my girlfriend's dress to a wedding recently. It's fun."
On Ava: "She's almost as tall as me - it's getting scary. But when she and Deacon get home from school, it's more about gymnastics, horse riding, karate, or whatever."
"I feel like I had that [Oscar-worthy role] in El Cantante, but I don't even think the Academy members saw it . . . It was funny; when the Oscars were on, I had just given birth on the 22nd, and the Oscars, I think, were a day or two later. I was sitting there with my twins - I couldn't have been happier - but I was like, 'How dope would it have been if I would've won the Oscar and been here in my hospital bed accepting the award?' . . . But we joked about it. It's all good. Things will happen when they're supposed to happen. I have the utmost faith and no doubt that it will one day, when and if it's supposed to. You can't get all crazy twisted over it."
Mark Wahlberg kept his earbuds in and his shades on while making a quick stop in Beverly Hills yesterday. Mark spent the end of the year promoting The Lovely Bones, though at the last minute the film's release was delayed until next Friday. Things are going more smoothly on the producer front and HBO just released a sneak peek of his latest project How to Make It in America, which stars one of the guys we'd like to see more of in 2010 - check it out after the jump. All four members of the Garner-Affleck crew were out running errands in LA yesterday. The family spent Christmas and New Year's together in LA, and the girls also got to spend some quality time playing with grandma who was in town. The holiday celebrations aren't over yet, however, since Seraphina turns one tomorrow! Happy Birthday to the adorable tot who is just part of the reason that in the end the Garner-Afflecks actually got more votes than the Jolie-Pitts to be named your favorite family of 2009.

Shia LaBeouf was once again wearing a brace on his left hand as he stepped out of a medical building in Santa Monica yesterday. He was free of bandages while spending time with Carey Mulligan over the holiday, but he's still feeling the repercussions of his July 2008 car accident. This award season is Carey's time to shine, so we'll see if he can free his hand to hold hers on the red carpet. Shia has his own busy schedule coming up, but one of his anticipated projects is no more - the director of The Road John Hillcoat who was to helm a movie with Shia and Ryan Gosling wrote in an on set diary that the project fell apart.

Cabo got a little hotter last night when Rihanna and her new love interest, LA Dodger Matt Kemp, stopped to party at the infamous El Squid Roe. The couple seem to be inseparable since their recent trip to Dubai where Rihanna performed at a NYE bash. The stylish singer kept her curves covered up in Givenchy last night at the hot spot for Spring breakers and high school students eager to drink. Earlier in the day bikini-clad Rihanna and Matt hit the pool, where they showed off some serious skin - and PDA -in the hot tub.
Ashley Olsen was in a rather non-conventional exercise outfit during a jog in Hollywood yesterday afternoon with her boyfriend Justin Bartha. It's a rare thing to see an Olsen twin working up a sweat, though Ashley has been known to sport her black Nikes during particularly rigorous walks in NYC. Perhaps Ashley is kicking off a workout-related New Year's resolution - if you're in the same boat, Fit has some great tips to get the ball rolling! Whatever the reason, Ashley's fitness partner is one of the men we'd love to see more of in 2010 and it sounds like we will thanks to new roles and his upcoming stint on Broadway.

Ashlee Simpson took an early morning walk with Bronx yesterday in NYC, and it was Pete's turn to push the stroller for a father-son outing later on in the afternoon. Ashlee had only one of her boys with her to celebrate New Year's since Pete hosted a party in Las Vegas before quickly getting back to his family. Ashlee and Pete had to wait until he returned to share their 2010 celebratory kiss, while another member of the Simpson family was off partying away in a more tropical climate. Jessica was on vacation with friends, though no word whether she had her rumored flame Billy Corgan along for a special midnight smooch.
