Lindsay Lohan was with her sister Ali and brother Dakota on Saturday night to see the Rangers play the Islanders at Madison Square Garden. LL twittered her dismay that the Rangers didn't win, but that didn't seem to diminish her good times at the rink. She was solo yesterday for a shopping trip to Intermix, where she got her hands on a black lace piece from Stella McCartney. She's wrapping up another year of ups and downs at home with family on the East Coast, but Lindsay is rumored to have a new guy around keeping her company - Adam Senn from The City was apparently by her side for Ali's birthday party last week, though LL insists that they're just friends.
We've been counting down the biggest headlines of 2009, and we'll be revealing more throughout the month of December. Read on to take a look back at some of the stories that created the most buzz throughout the year.
This year, we lost many stars, both old and young. Michael Jackson stole headlines over the Summer due to his passing, but we also spent the last 12 months mourning other public figures.
Just two days into the year, John Travolta and Kelly Preston suffered the devastating loss of their son, Jett Travolta, after complications from a seizure. Michael Jackson's highly publicized death almost overshadowed the passing of Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon, who died within days of each other at the end of June. Beloved actor Patrick Swayze lost his battle with cancer in September, after a lengthy and courageous fight. Bea Arthur, meanwhile, passed in April at the age of 86, and director John Hughes suffered a fatal heart attack in August. Legendary senator Ted Kennedy also died that month after his own fight against cancer.
Two deaths seemed particularly out of the blue - DJ AM overdosed in August after surviving a plane crash and overcoming drugs during a previous battle with addiction, and Natasha Richardson died in March after a tragic ski accident. The most recent star to be gone too soon is Brittany Murphy, who died last weekend at her LA home. Our hearts go out to all of those who lost a loved one this year, and the memories of these celebrities will certainly live on through their work.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were in California Thursday enjoying the afternoon before Christmas with their twins at Disneyland. Also along for the fun were Jennifer's mom Guadalupe, sister Lynda, and Marc's older son Cristian. The gang was together for the holiday, but soon Jennifer and Marc headed east to their place in Miami. Jennifer was in a corduroy one-piece yesterday to attend a Dolphins game with Marc, but their team ended up losing to the Texans. Despite the loss, Jennifer and Marc still managed to be all smiles during their evening out. Their perfected posing will come in handy when it's time to hit the red carpet in 2010 to promote her film The Back-Up Plan - check out the newly released trailer.
The holiday weekend didn't get in the way of Jennifer Garner passing a few fun afternoons outside with her girls. She brought Violet and Seraphina along for some fun at a Santa Monica park on Saturday, with her youngest daughter looking too cute in her pink onesie with ears. Jennifer's parents, who were in town for the holidays, came along to watch as Violet and Seraphina tackled the swing set, the slide, and the sandbox. It was just Mrs. Garner who accompanied her daughter and grandkids yesterday for a stroll in Pacific Palisades.

2009 was a good year for hot Hollywood guys. From dashing leading men to talented musicians, there was a little something for everyone. It might be hard to pick just one, but tell us - who's your favorite male star of 2009?
Angelina Jolie was back in a familiar hat this morning to do re-shoots for Salt in NYC. Despite the fact that there is already a trailer out for the film, it looks like there is still more to do before production is officially done. Angelina and her family were in NYC over the Summer as work on the movie got underway, which gave her and Brad plenty of chances to explore the city with their kids. They've also been able to spend quality time around the Big Apple during their latest stay, including a family lunch without the twins and some browsing of street stalls last week.
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden left Harlow and Sparrow at home on Saturday for an afternoon of browsing around Barneys and James Perse in LA. After heading out to do their pre-holiday shopping together, this outing was all about the post-Christmas sales that included, apparently, a discounted pair of boots for Nicole. She wasn't just in the market for footwear, though, since she Twittered about trying to find "an obnoxiously glitterific dress" for their upcoming New Year's Eve bash at Lavo in Las Vegas. Nicole and Joel have both had an amazing past twelve months with their family and careers, but he has an extra reason to look forward to Thursday's festivities since he'll also be celebrating being a nonsmoker!
We get to see celebs hard at work throughout the year, but they love to let loose and enjoy amazing vacations during their time off. Whether it's a trip with friends, a romantic couples' retreat, or a family-filled getaway, it's so fun to watch stars unwind - take a look at all the best celebrity vacations of 2009!
Sienna Miller got a head start on her holiday vacation in Barbados last week when she hit the beach in her bikini alongside her mother Jo. As expected, she and her mom got a little more company over the weekend in the form of her apparently on-again boyfriend Jude Law and his three oldest kids, Rafferty, Iris, and Rudy. Sienna was in a gingham Agent Provocateur suit Kate Moss also owns to spend yesterday playing in the water with Jude's kids. Jude's ex, Sadie Frost, is said to be unhappy Jude didn't buy her a ticket to join them all, but he didn't seem to be letting any stress ruin his fun family times. He's got lots more to celebrate at the moment anyway, including Sherlock Holmes being second place at the weekend box office, Sienna's 28th birthday today, and his own big day tomorrow.
Lots more photos from their vacation so just read more.
The Jolie-Pitts spent time in NYC last week, including a lunch for Brad, Angelina, Shiloh, Zahara, Pax and Maddox on Tuesday. Brad and Angelina also made time to do some shopping while out and about on the street - check out all the photos at TMZ. They browsed hats and scarves on sale with two of their older children looking for new items to help ward off the East Coast chill. Brad and Angelina may have been picking up goodies for their own kids, but they're also keeping an eye out for younger people in other parts of the country. The couple recently donated $100,000 to the American SOS Children's Villages, the US branch of the organization they support abroad as well.
Rihanna has been jet-setting around the world for the last few weeks while promoting her album Rated R, but she was finally able to take a breather and enjoy a few days at home in Barbados over Christmas. Her holiday wasn't marked by snow and coats, but rather with friends and her pink bikini by the beach. She was out Saturday soaking up the sun, just as she did during a visit with good friend Katy Perry earlier this year. Her stay in the Caribbean unfortunately will be a short one, as she's scheduled to perform on New Year's Eve in Abu Dhabi.
